- how to tag historical figures that have multiple historical periods?
- You can use multiple historical periods for memorialized people. We suggest any period they would have been active and significant in is what you should include in their person item.
- John at Loyola: adding society of Jesus as an organization
- Yes. You can add this organization as an interinstitutional organization by using the base new item template from omeka and then adding it to the interinstitutional organizations item set. You can check the organizations page in the data dictionary for examples on how to craft the definitions for these.
- Can we add school colors to the database?
- You can add your school logo either as an object (ie a flag) or a plaque/marker and then talk about any confederate or lost cause symbolism in your school logo like school colors. You can see Jonathan from VMI coat of arms item as an example of this.
- Can yearbooks be added under the book memorial type?
- No we have decided that yearbooks are not a memorial item, but things in your yearbook can be such as societies, organizations, or memorial events. See Dan from Merideth KKK art club item as an example.
- If you have things in your yearbook that are interesting but cant be items themselves you can also create either an exhibit or a blog post around your yearbook so it can be added to your spoke site as a part of your local campus history.
